LucasArts Screws “Star Wars The Force Unleashed” Early Adopters

LucasArts will also release Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition during the Holiday 2009 season, a special edition of the game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 featuring the original title and the already available downloadable content, plus an exclusive level on Hoth, where the confrontation between Starkiller and Skywalker takes place.

This perhaps is not the smartest move by LucasArts. In effect it is telling early adopters that it is better to "wait and see" on new games. For someone like me, a game collector this is like heavenly mana. Instead of paying full price, I typically wait until a game has started price reductions. Mind you I don’t typically buy Used games for my collections, so it would be a new purchase at the discounted rate. This SNAFU new version by LucasArts plays right in to my purchasing style.

I will still wait until it is discounted unless it drops at the $29.99 "Platimun" price.

P.S.

I just want to add that I will fully support games & companies that I fully believe in and want to see continue to produce great games. Hale 3 Legendary = Full price.. same goes SFIV and BlazBlue. On the other hand, I have not purchased a Football game for any console since ESPN NFL 2K5.
